Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 4, 2026

1. Introduction

GrabRadio ("we", "us", "our") operates the grabradioapp.com website and service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use magic link authentication — we do not collect or store passwords.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the service, including: stations you record from, recording schedules, playback activity, and general usage patterns. This data is used to operate and improve the service.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Polar (polar.sh), our Merchant of Record. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details directly. Polar handles all payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the GrabRadio service
  • To send you magic link authentication emails
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To communicate important service updates
  • To monitor and improve service performance and reliability

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage & Retention

Your account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on a Hetzner VPS in Germany. Audio recordings are stored in AWS S3 and are automatically deleted after your plan's retention period (7, 30, or 90 days depending on your plan).

When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed, including: recordings (from both the database and S3 storage), schedules, custom stations, and podcast feed tokens.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Polar (polar.sh) — payment processing and subscription management
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (magic link emails only)
  • AWS S3 — audio file storage
  • Vercel — web application hosting
  • Radio Browser API — station directory data

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their handling of data.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — specifically, session cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data
  • Object to data processing

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. For other requests, contact us at the email below.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including: encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via magic links (no passwords stored), short-lived JWT tokens for service communication, and regular database backups.

9. Children

GrabRadio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
